MALARIA PREVENTION & TREATMENT PROGRAM

Location: Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, Uganda

OUR MISSION:

The Malaria Prevention & Treatment Program is dedicated to reducing the devastating impact of malaria among refugees in the Kyaka II settlement. Uganda bears one of the highest malaria burdens in the world, with over 90% of its population at risk.

In Kyaka II alone, malaria is the leading cause of death for children under five, accounting for more than 35% of outpatient consultations at local health facilities.

WHAT WE AIM TO DO:

Through this program, we are committed to:

  • Testing, treatment, and prevention of malaria for refugees in Kyaka II.

  • Clinical research to validate the effectiveness of our novel topical mosquito repellent in reducing malaria cases.

  • Infrastructure development, including strengthening operations at our newly opened medical center.

  • Community health promotion through education, prevention campaigns, and local engagement.

WHY IT MATTERS:

  • Global Impact: Africa accounts for 94% of global malaria cases and 95% of global malaria deaths.

  • Local Urgency: Malaria is a daily threat to Kyaka II residents, especially vulnerable children.

  • Life-Saving Work: Your support directly translates into lives saved, healthier communities, and a stronger medical infrastructure.

OUR GOALS:

  • Save lives through immediate and effective malaria care.

  • Advance malaria prevention science through evidence-based research.

  • Build sustainable medical infrastructure for long-term community health.

  • Raise awareness and mobilize resources to combat malaria in high-risk areas.
